What are some good books on cats and cat care? What are some good books on kitten care?

The "dummies" series has an excellent book that would be a good reference to have in your home.

Personally I like "Homeopathic Care for Cats and Dogs" by Don Hamilton, DVM. Anitra Frazier’s book "The New Natural Cat" has gone through many editions and is a wonderful book on cats. Sandy Arora’s "Whole Health for Happy Cats" is beautifuly produced and very up-to-date on cat feeding and other health issues. Sandy’s approach is very much holistic and offers another approach to owning cats than the "Cats for Dummies".

I have just completed a dog grooming course and would like to add on this speciality.

Hi Mandy,

There is an online cat grooming school that I found. At their site there is a form where you can get information about their courses, cost, etc. Since you have completed a dog grooming course, they may offer you just cats to add as a speciality, which is what you wish to accomplish.

http://www.career-diplomas.com/index.cfm?key=go_140meow&v=google&a=thomson%40worldclassstrategy.com&c=Thomson+Education&cat=Cat+Groomer+140meow&mt=Search&ad=619676004&st=cat%20grooming%20school&drop_id=056&est=cat+grooming+school&emt=broad

In addition to that, however, for a more "hands on" training experience, I would visit local groomers, or inquire if there is a cat only veterinarian near you. My cat only vet has a groomer who works on her site.

They would be the best ones to suggest where to get training for felines, which, of course, is totally different than canines. They also may be able to work with you for a fee, if the vet or grooming facility is willing. I don’t know about how you would get a degree, if that is what you need, but I sure would at least visit establishments or call them to find out more information.

There was a total lack of cat grooming training programs online, with the exception of the online one.

Good luck to you.
