    ANY cat can get …
ANY cat can get ringworm. It is a fungus that lives on cats, dogs, and humans (and probably other mammals, too…) and can spread from one species to another (cats to us, for instance). Most “parents” cannot keep up with a Persian’s coat. They usually do need professional grooming in order to maintain a healthy coat. Hair can protect a cat from diseases, but it can also hide disease (ringworm, mites, fleas, etc.) if it isn’t maintained properly.

    I have to agree. …
I have to agree. This is for the professionals who have training & experience in grooming cats. I would use a clipper instead because a cat’s coat is hard to work with, making the hair cut look good too with a larger blade. You have a lot of chop marks in the coat & it looks silly. The other thing I notice is I hate the Oster clipper she is using, It’s too loud for the cat & heavy duty to have a chance of skin knicking the cat, I use Andis A5 as it’s a lot quieter and safer for the cat.

    I am a professional …
I am a professional cat “only” groomer & this is a persian. These cats are some what like poodles they require a bath & clipping to be comfortable & have healthy skin. Most of my clients are persians or half persians with double coats & the owner is coming to me for help because they have such a hard time brushing the cat and the cat fight back. Also persians are more likely to get ringworm if their skin is not healthy with matts pulling hair out by the roots which is VERY painful and cruel.

    Honestly does this …
Honestly does this woman you think that everyone can do this to their cat. knowing how scared cats are when it comes to new things being used on their fur, and them not being still. Especially you being on the verge of being bit or scratched by a cat, come on now. Its good, but it not going to be esay for some people.

    it is unnecessary …
it is unnecessary to cut a cat’s hair, just brush it daily to keep the knots away, they take care of everything themselves

apalling! If you accidently cut the cat’s skin with the scissors, you could be taking him to the emergency clinic for stitches!
